I am a student at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism with a business minor in the Marshall School of Business. I am passionate about sports and want to pursue a career in sports media.
I am from Los Angeles, California and am a die-hard Lakers fan. Some of my best memories from when I was a kid were watching Shaq and Kobe win championships on those legendary Lakers teams. I had a VHS tape that was a documentary on the Lakers’ first championship with Shaq and Kobe that I used to watch every day.
I remember I got to go to one of their playoff games against the San Antonio Spurs during their 2001 championship run. I was living in the Bay area at the time but my family took a trip to LA so we got to go to the game. I went to the game with my Dad and my brother and we had so much fun. It was the first time I went to the Staples Center and I could not believe how big the place was, especially the size of the players in person.

I also love watching football and am an avid Oakland Raiders fan. My Dad and I would go to games when my family used to live in the Bay area. The best game I went to was when the Raiders won the AFC championship against the Tennessee Titans in 2002. It was the last football game I got to go to with my Grandpa and although it was raining during the game the energy in the stadium was unbelievable. No one cared how hard it was raining everyone was having so much fun. It was another amazing night that I will remember forever.

Those moments from my childhood are why I want to have a career in sports media. During my time at USC I have worked multiple internships and part-time jobs to help prepare myself for when I graduate and am starting my career.
My most recent job was a summer internship at ESPN. I decided I wanted to get some experience living outside of California so I applied to work at the ESPN office in Bristol, Connecticut in the social media department. Once I heard back that I got the position I was extremely excited. I learned so much while I was in Bristol. I got some experience using Photoshop and got to make posts to multiple ESPN social media accounts across all of the different platforms.

Working at ESPN this past summer was also a really cool experience because of all the athletes and celebrities that came to the campus to be on shows. I got to see top Lakers pick Brandon Ingram walk right by me in the hallway. I also got to shoot a video with Heisman candidate Deshaun Watson. And lastly I got to listen to the President of ESPN John Skipper speak at the ESPN intern symposium. Overall, it was an amazing experience and I am eager to continue to learn more to help prepare myself for life after I graduate.
